Spurs are reportedly ready to open talks for the Nigerian striker, but Galatasaray’s £130m valuation could complicate the ambitious pursuit

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly received approval to pursue Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, with the Premier League club considering a proposed £65m offer for the Galatasaray forward as they seek to add a prolific goalscorer to their attack.

The reported interest marks an ambitious move by the north London club, who have already invested heavily in their squad this summer and are understood to be keen to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline.

According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham have received “sporting approval” to begin formal negotiations for Osimhen, with the report suggesting that personal terms may not present a major obstacle if the clubs can agree on a transfer fee.

A £65m offer, however, could fall well short of Galatasaray’s expectations.

The Turkish champions are reportedly valuing Osimhen at around €150m, or approximately £130m, despite having signed the Nigerian international for a reported €75m. The 27-year-old is also under contract with Galatasaray until 2029.

Osimhen’s position has further strengthened his standing at the club. The striker has reportedly indicated that he would only consider leaving if Galatasaray are willing to sanction his departure, potentially placing the Turkish side in a powerful negotiating position.

The Nigerian has enjoyed a remarkable period of success since joining Galatasaray. After helping Napoli win the Serie A title during the 2022/23 season, Osimhen went on to contribute to consecutive Turkish Super Lig triumphs with Galatasaray in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns.

His goalscoring record has also made him one of Europe’s most coveted forwards.

Osimhen has scored 107 goals in 145 appearances across all competitions over the past four seasons, while his Champions League record stands at 16 goals in 27 matches.

Those figures have ensured sustained interest from several leading European clubs.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the Nigerian in recent years, although none has managed to complete a deal for the forward.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as potential destinations, underlining the fierce competition Tottenham could face if Galatasaray make Osimhen available.

The reported Spurs pursuit comes after the club’s substantial summer spending, with the north London side said to have invested more than £230m in new players.

The club have strengthened several areas of the squad, with additions including Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, but the hierarchy are reportedly determined to add further attacking quality.

Osimhen could represent the kind of statement signing capable of transforming Tottenham’s forward line, but the gulf between the reported £65m proposal and Galatasaray’s £130m valuation remains a formidable hurdle.

For Tottenham, the coming weeks could determine whether the pursuit develops into a serious negotiation or becomes another chapter in the long-running saga surrounding one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
