The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned against any attempt by the Wike-led faction to occupy its National Secretariat, emphasising that the property remains subject to ongoing litigation.

Ini Ememobong, National Publicity Secretary of PDP, issued the warning on Friday, stressing that any forced entry or access would violate judicial authority and constitute self-help.

The caution follows reports that a faction loyal to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, plans to take control of the secretariat next Monday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission recently recognised the Wike-led group, allowing its representatives to attend the first quarterly stakeholders’ meeting with political parties in 2026.

Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of the Wike-led PDP caretaker committee, reportedly declared, “By next Monday, we will take over the PDP headquarters.”

In response, PDP stated that intelligence suggests expelled members may attempt access “either by force or in connivance with security forces.”

The party has formally written to the Inspector General of Police and the FCT Commissioner of Police, reminding them that the matter is before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Abuja, and the Court of Appeal.

“Any action taken to grant access to anybody before the conclusion of the case amounts to contempt of court,” the statement said, adding that the party will use all legal means to defend its property.

Responsibility for any injury or damage resulting from forced entry rests with the aggressors and any collaborating security personnel.

PDP reiterated that the expelled members, having initiated the suit, must await judgment and cannot resort to self-help. The party reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its secretariat and upholding the rule of law.
