Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has praised the performances of Michael Olise and Luis Díaz following Paris Saint-Germain’s dramatic 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday, Ray Parlour described Michael Olise as being “a different class” in a pulsating encounter that delivered nine goals and relentless attacking football from both sides.

The Parlour praises Olise PSG Bayern reaction also highlighted Luis Díaz, whom the former England international labelled “superb” for his energetic and influential display on Bayern Munich’s left flank.

“Olise was a different class. Luis Diaz was superb on that left-hand side for Bayern going forward,” Parlour said, reflecting on the high-intensity performance from both players.

The former midfielder added that the result would send a warning to other Champions League contenders, including Arsenal and Atlético Madrid, who are closely watching the semi-final tie unfold.

Parlour suggested that any potential finalists will need to reach peak performance levels to overcome either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain in what is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive tournament run.

Sanwo-Olu surprises wife Ibijoke with flowers and shares a kiss at COWLSO’s 26th Annual National Women’s Conference in Lagos

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu surprised his wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, with flowers before sharing a kiss with her at the opening ceremony of the 26th Annual National Women’s Conference in Lagos on Tuesday.

The event was organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) under the theme, “Anchored in Purpose: Be the Blueprint.”

Sanwo-Olu presented the flowers to his wife during his speech at the conference, which brings together women and leaders for discussions and activities focused on women’s empowerment and leadership.

“On behalf of COWLSO and everything that is decent, we want to appreciate you, we want to honour you,” the governor said.

The couple subsequently shared a kiss as Nigerian singer 2Baba’s song, “African Queen”, played at the event.

The conference aims to inspire women, empower leaders and promote a purposeful future through discussions and activities centred on women’s development.
