Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has admitted that Victor Osimhen’s absence is significantly affecting the club’s performance in the Süper Lig title race, as the reigning champions continue to drop crucial points.

Osimhen Galatasaray absence impact has become more pronounced after the Turkish side failed to secure a win in their last three league matches, collecting only one point from a possible nine.

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian international forward, has been sidelined since sustaining a forearm fracture during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League defeat to Liverpool in March.

Since his injury, Galatasaray have struggled to maintain attacking sharpness, with recent results including two defeats and a draw that have allowed rivals to close the gap at the top of the table.

Speaking after a 1-1 draw against Kocaelispor, Okan Buruk admitted that the absence of Victor Osimhen has created a clear void in the team’s attacking structure.

Osimhen’s absence at Galatasaray has increasingly become a central talking point in Turkey, with analysts noting the striker’s influence on the club’s overall tactical balance and goal output.

Sanwo-Olu surprises wife Ibijoke with flowers and shares a kiss at COWLSO’s 26th Annual National Women’s Conference in Lagos

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu surprised his wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, with flowers before sharing a kiss with her at the opening ceremony of the 26th Annual National Women’s Conference in Lagos on Tuesday.

The event was organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) under the theme, “Anchored in Purpose: Be the Blueprint.”

Sanwo-Olu presented the flowers to his wife during his speech at the conference, which brings together women and leaders for discussions and activities focused on women’s empowerment and leadership.

“On behalf of COWLSO and everything that is decent, we want to appreciate you, we want to honour you,” the governor said.

The couple subsequently shared a kiss as Nigerian singer 2Baba’s song, “African Queen”, played at the event.

The conference aims to inspire women, empower leaders and promote a purposeful future through discussions and activities centred on women’s development.
