The Solid Miners secured the landmark victory on Sunday night at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.

It was their first away victory of the 2026/27 NPFL season and also their biggest-ever away win by scoreline in the league.

Nasarawa United made a blistering start as Kelechi Ogbobo opened the scoring in the 11th minute.

Ugochukwu Leonard doubled the advantage just five minutes later to give the visitors a commanding 2-0 lead.

The result earned the Lafia-based club a major boost as they continued their campaign with an impressive away performance.

In recognition of the team’s performance, the Nasarawa State Government rewarded the players with N1 million.

The money was presented by the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Stephen Iliya Sasetu.

The reward followed what the officials described as an outstanding performance and landmark victory for the Solid Miners.

The result also lifted Nasarawa United to fifth position on the NPFL table, with 14 points from nine matches.

Nasarawa United will now turn their attention to a difficult Matchday 10 fixture against nine-time NPFL champions Enyimba.

The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
