Nasarawa United hopeful plea as Mbwas Mangut urges fans to stay calm and support the team after consecutive NPFL defeats

Nasarawa United Technical Adviser Mbwas Mangut, speaking in Lafia, Nasarawa State has issued a strong appeal to supporters of the club following a difficult run of results in the Nigeria Premier Football League, urging calm, unity and renewed belief after consecutive defeats that have weakened the side’s title challenge.

The plea came after Nasarawa United suffered a disappointing 1–0 home loss to bottom side Kun Khalifat FC last weekend, a result that followed another earlier defeat and left the Solid Miners struggling to regain momentum in the closing stages of the campaign.

Mangut acknowledged the setback but insisted the club remains focused on recovery, describing the current period as a test of character for both players and supporters.

He said the technical crew was working intensively behind the scenes to correct identified shortcomings, adding that the response from the squad in training had been encouraging despite recent frustrations.

“The time for reckoning is upon us; we will rise to the occasion and ensure that the remaining part of our campaign concludes on a note of dignity and competitiveness,” Mangut said.

In a message aimed directly at supporters, Mangut urged fans not to lose faith, stressing that their backing remains vital as the team navigates a challenging spell.

Nasarawa United hopeful plea formed the central theme of his remarks as he sought to steady nerves within the club’s fan base.

He further reassured supporters that the squad was committed to restoring pride in the remaining fixtures, noting that efforts were being made to address tactical and performance issues that contributed to recent losses.

“Let me assure our dedicated and loyal supporters and fans across the globe that we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to address the issues that have led to our recent predicament,” he added.

Mangut emphasised that the team still has an opportunity to finish the season strongly, even as pressure mounts ahead of their next fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri on Sunday.

The coach described the support base as “the club’s greatest strength,” urging continued solidarity as Nasarawa United aim to halt their slide and restore confidence in their NPFL campaign.
