The attack also forced more than 500 natives, primarily from Ganawuri community who had travelled to Kwara for farming and commercial activities, to flee their homes. The number of displaced persons has now risen to 707, with some managing to return home while others remain stranded in Kwara.

Gwong Song said 200 of the displaced have returned home after the council chairman sent N3 million to facilitate their transportation. Those returning are staying with relatives rather than in formal IDP camps.

The Deputy Chairman described the situation as painful and stated that the council is organising a special day to honour and remember the victims.
