Kano police recruitment scammers warning issued as applicants are urged to avoid fraudsters during the ongoing constable screening exercise

The Nigeria Police Force in Kano has warned applicants participating in the ongoing police constable recruitment screening exercise to remain vigilant against scammers and online impostors.

The warning was issued during the screening exercise currently taking place at the Police Officers’ Mess Bompai, where candidates began undergoing evaluation on 9 March 2026.

According to a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the recruitment process is being conducted with professionalism, transparency and strict adherence to official procedures.

Head of the police recruitment team Habibu Rabiu emphasised that the exercise is entirely free of charge and cautioned candidates against individuals demanding money in exchange for assistance.

“The exercise is completely free, and candidates are advised to be wary of online impostors and scammers,” Rabiu said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, who supervised the screening on Wednesday, commended officers involved in the exercise for maintaining an orderly process.

Bakori urged the personnel to sustain the standard and professionalism displayed so far.

Authorities also confirmed that adequate security had been deployed in and around the screening venue to ensure a safe and smooth exercise for all applicants.
