Zlatan Ibile says he focuses on financial stability rather than investing in emerging artists but remains open to collaborations to support new talent

Popular Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has explained why he is cautious about financially backing up-and-coming musical talents.

Speaking on the Adesope Live show, the “Zanku” crooner said his approach to music is strictly business-oriented, prioritising financial security over uncertain investments.

“I will rather go buy a house rather than put money on these artistes that I’m not sure will be successful or not,” Zlatan said, highlighting the risk associated with funding untested talent.

The rapper added that his main motivation for making music is to secure a stable financial future, particularly after struggling with professional pressure and anxiety early in his career.

“The reason I am making music is for financial stability. My goal is to be able to be responsible and financially stable. In the beginning of my career, I wasn’t balanced. I suffered from pressure and anxieties,” he explained.

Despite ruling out substantial monetary investment, Zlatan remains committed to nurturing emerging talent through collaboration.

He is open to featuring on tracks and offering guidance, recalling the support he received from established artists that helped him rise to fame.
