Speaking at the 2025 Annual General Meeting held at Emmanuel Unachukwu Hall, the National President of the YABATECH Alumni Association, Yemi Osibajo, described the moment as historic and called for decisive action toward this milestone.

The association plans to benchmark itself against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s alumni network to emulate its global excellence and impact.

The goal is clear: position YABATECH as Nigeria’s leading University of Technology and Vocational Studies upon conversion.

College Governing Council Chairman, Prof. Funso Isolaowa Afolabi, hailed the National Assembly’s bill for YABATECH’s conversion as a well-deserved recognition of the institution’s legacy as Nigeria’s first tertiary institution and top-ranked polytechnic.
