Former Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid midfielder and manager Xabi Alonso has reportedly made a bold request to Chelsea Football Club as discussions continue over a potential managerial move to Stamford Bridge in London, United Kingdom.

The 42-year-old, Xabi Alonso, is said to be open to leading Chelsea under a long-term project but is demanding significant authority over sporting decisions as part of any agreement.

According to reports, Alonso wants full control over squad planning, recruitment strategy and key football operations if he is to take charge of the Premier League club.

The request comes at a time when Chelsea’s ownership group, BlueCo, is known for maintaining a centralised structure in transfer and sporting decision-making, which could complicate negotiations.
