Fresh speculation over the Victor Osimhen Transfer emerged after Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle revealed that the striker was omitted from Nigeria’s squad for upcoming friendly matches against Poland and Portugal because of ongoing discussions surrounding his club future.

Chelle suggested that the possibility of a transfer influenced the decision to leave Osimhen out of the squad, arguing that players should be fully focused before taking to the pitch.

The comments quickly generated widespread debate and fuelled reports linking the 27-year-old with several European clubs.

However, Osimhen moved swiftly to calm the situation, insisting that the coach’s remarks had been misinterpreted.

In a statement posted on Instagram, the striker said he had spoken directly with Chelle and maintained that the coach held great respect for Galatasaray. Osimhen urged supporters to disregard rumours suggesting an imminent transfer and insisted the comments had been taken out of context.

The Super Eagles media team also issued clarifications following the widespread reaction to Chelle’s interview.

Despite the public denial, reports from Turkish media continue to suggest that interest in the Nigerian forward remains strong. Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with a move, joining a list of admirers that reportedly includes Manchester United.

According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Chelsea have opened preliminary contacts regarding a potential summer move. Galatasaray, however, are reportedly unwilling to negotiate below a €150 million valuation.

The reported asking price represents a significant increase on the €75 million fee the Istanbul-based club paid to acquire Osimhen from Napoli last summer.

On the field, Osimhen delivered another impressive campaign, helping Galatasaray retain the Turkish Super Lig title. The striker scored 15 league goals and registered five assists in 22 appearances.

He also made a decisive impact in Europe, contributing seven goals and three assists in the UEFA Champions League as Galatasaray advanced to the Round of 16.

While uncertainty continues to surround the Victor Osimhen Transfer saga, the latest reports suggest the Nigerian star remains one of the most sought-after forwards ahead of the summer transfer window.
