President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after observing the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in Lagos and concluding a recent state visit to the United Kingdom.

The development was confirmed on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who stated that Tinubu returns Abuja following a series of engagements during his stay in Lagos.

According to the statement, the President departed from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at 6:44 pm. The return marks the end of a period that combined religious observance with high-level consultations and diplomatic activities.

During his time in Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu participated in Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks and hosted a range of prominent figures, including 23 state governors. Among them was Biodun Oyebanji.

The President also held meetings with leading business figure Aliko Dangote, representatives of the European Union delegation, and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council, reflecting a strategic mix of political and economic engagements.

In addition, Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Lagos to brief the President on his recent trip to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident, underscoring ongoing security concerns.

Dignitaries present at the President’s departure included Dapo Abiodun, former governor Olusegun Osoba, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, alongside senior government officials and party leaders.

Observers note that the President’s return signals a transition back to federal duties in Abuja after a period of both diplomatic outreach and domestic consultations.
