Spanish Super Cup semi-final pairings confirmed: Barcelona vs Athletic Club and Real Madrid vs Atletico. The 2025 edition will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially confirmed the semi-final matchups for the upcoming Spanish Super Cup, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 7 to 11 January 2025.

Defending champions Barcelona will face Athletic Club in one semi-final, while Real Madrid are set for a fiery clash against city rivals Atletico Madrid in the other.

All matches are scheduled to be played at the King Abdullah Sports City, which has become a familiar venue for the tournament since the competition’s revamp in 2019.

The current format features four teams — LaLiga winners and runners-up, as well as the Copa del Rey finalists.

Barcelona return as holders after an emphatic 5–2 victory over Real Madrid in last season’s final under manager Hansi Flick, completing what was described as a historic treble-winning season.
