Governor Dikko Radda praises the Safana empowerment drive as the LGA Chairman distributes vehicles and support items to over 1,300 residents

Governor Dikko Radda has praised the Safana empowerment drive after the Chairman of Safana Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Sani, distributed 10 vehicles to councillors and supported 1,322 residents with economic tools.

The Governor launched the programme on Thursday in Safana and described it as the most far-reaching grassroots initiative he had seen during his tour of Katsina’s 34 local government areas.

Governor Radda commended the Chairman for what he called exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to local transformation.

Radda said the empowerment scheme reflected the practical benefits of strengthened local government autonomy.

He noted that effective decentralisation supported enterprise growth, promoted self-reliance, and reinforced the economic base of Safana communities.

He explained that development must begin at the grassroots to create measurable improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.

He described the Safana programme as outstanding and said it stood out as the most expansive empowerment effort he had witnessed on his visits.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to deepen empowerment schemes, strengthen governance structures, and support initiatives targeting youths, women, and vulnerable groups across the state.

Chairman Abdullahi Sani thanked the Governor for releasing the council’s allocations, which he said enabled the execution of the empowerment plan.

The Chairman highlighted the intervention tools, which included sewing machines, grinding machines, noodle-making machines, motorcycles, a council bus, and power tillers.

A vehicle was also provided for the All Progressives Congress Local Government Chairman.

Other distributed items included bags of flour, tricycles for persons with disabilities, and cash support for women, youths, vulnerable individuals, and APC EXCO members at local government and ward levels.

As part of his ongoing inspection tour, the Governor also paid a courtesy visit to the District Head of Safana, Yariman Katsina Alhaji Sada Rufa’i, and held engagements with key local stakeholders.
