Russia Ukraine Drone Attacks leave three dead in Dnipro and Rostov. Officials report destruction, rising tensions, and failed peace efforts amid fresh strikes

Russia Ukraine Drone Attacks claimed at least three lives overnight as strikes intensified across both countries. One person was killed in a residential high-rise in Dnipro, Ukraine, while two others died in Russia’s Rostov region following a Ukrainian drone attack.

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov confirmed the fatality in his city and warned residents to avoid upper floors during shelling, urging use of underground parking as shelter alternatives.

Meanwhile, Russia’s acting governor of Rostov, Yuri Sliusar, reported that a drone strike caused a car fire, tragically resulting in two deaths. “Tragically, two people died,” Sliusar said via Telegram.

Kharkiv also faced a brutal three-hour bombardment. Mayor Igor Terekhov detailed that guided bombs, ballistic missiles, and kamikaze drones were all used in the attack.

In Zaporizhzhia, Governor Ivan Fedorov said Russian drones sparked multiple fires—one hitting a residential building and another damaging a farm warehouse.

Despite the growing toll, hopes for peace remain dim. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to push for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, proposing a meeting by the end of August.

However, the Kremlin has downplayed any chance of such a dialogue, citing deep divisions in negotiation terms.

Russia demands recognition of its annexation of four Ukrainian regions—an ultimatum Kyiv deems unacceptable. Ukraine, in turn, is pressing its Western allies for more weapons to withstand relentless daily attacks.
