Rasheedat Ajibade joins PSG from Atletico Madrid in a two-year deal, boosting Nigeria’s presence at the French giants ahead of the new season

Rasheedat Ajibade joins PSG, marking a major step in her career and strengthening Nigeria’s growing influence in European women’s football.

The Super Falcons captain and WAFCON champion signed a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain, with an option to extend for a third year.

Her move comes after the conclusion of her successful spell at Atlético de Madrid, where she became one of the most recognized African players in the Spanish league.

“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe,” Ajibade said in her first official statement.

“This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”

Ajibade has already joined her new teammates in training ahead of the upcoming Division 1 Féminine season, and her signing is seen as a statement of intent by PSG to dominate both domestically and in Europe.

The move also sees Ajibade link up with fellow Nigerian international Jennifer Echegini, creating a powerful Nigerian duo at one of Europe’s most ambitious clubs.
