Katsina Police Command foils a bandits’ attack in Dandume LGA, neutralises two suspects, as one resident is fatally shot before security operatives arrive

The Katsina State Police Command has foiled a bandits’ attack on Gidan Soda village in Dandume Local Government Area, killing two suspected bandits during a gun battle.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Aliyu Abubakar, the attackers fatally shot a resident, identified as Hassana Muhammad, before security operatives arrived at the scene.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer mobilised personnel who, alongside the military and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), engaged the assailants in a gun duel. The suspects fled due to what police described as superior firepower.

The bodies of two suspected bandits and a Boxer motorcycle were recovered at the scene.

Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects, while investigations continue.
