Paul Pogba says Lamine Yamal is among the top three players in the world, urging the Barcelona star to stay focused on football

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has named Spain winger Lamine Yamal as one of the top three best players in the world, following the teenager’s continued rise in international football.

Paul Pogba made the remarks during an interview with Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, delivered shortly after Spain’s 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in their opening World Cup fixture on Monday.

The French midfielder advised the Barcelona star to remain focused on his football career and avoid distractions as expectations continue to grow around his performances.

Pogba stressed the importance of surrounding the young winger with trusted advisers, including family members and his agent, to help manage pressure off the pitch.

“He needs to be with reliable people. His family and agent are crucial to him; let them worry about his public image, and he only needs to focus on playing football,” Pogba said.

He further praised Yamal’s talent, placing him among the elite players in global football despite his young age and limited experience at senior level.

“Even if he’s not the best in the world, he is definitely top three. Even if not first, then second or third,” he added.

Lamine Yamal has continued to attract global attention after a standout season with Barcelona, where he played a key role in their LaLiga triumph.
