Plateau attacks leave 10 dead as gunmen strike Barkin Ladi and Riyom, with several injured residents hospitalised following Sunday night violence

The death toll from violent attacks in Plateau State has risen to 10, after additional bodies were recovered from communities in Barkin Ladi and Riyom.

The Dorowa Babuje community in Barkin Ladi was attacked by gunmen on Sunday night. Rwang Tengwong, a local community leader, said two more bodies were found in Dorowa Babuje, while another resident was fatally shot in Jol, Riyom Local Government Area.

The attack reportedly occurred around 7:27 pm and left three others seriously injured, who are currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, for further updates were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

The recent violence has heightened concerns over security in Plateau State, with local leaders and residents calling for swift government action and increased protection against armed attacks.
