Manchester City have confirmed that Pep Guardiola will continue his association with the City Football Group after being appointed as a Global Ambassador following his departure from the Premier League club in 2026.

Pep Guardiola exit comes after the Spanish manager’s decision to step down as head coach following a decade-long spell in charge of the first team at the Etihad Stadium.

The club announced that the 55-year-old will move into an ambassadorial role within the City Football Group, where he is expected to provide technical advice and contribute to selected projects and strategic collaborations across the organisation.

Guardiola is set to leave as Manchester City’s longest-serving manager, surpassing Les McDowall when he takes charge of his 593rd and final match against Aston Villa on Sunday.

During his 10-year tenure, Guardiola guided Manchester City to 20 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League crown in 2023.

His departure marks the end of one of the most successful managerial eras in English football, defined by tactical dominance, domestic consistency and European triumph.
