In a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, the Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, immediately ordered a rescue operation involving officers from neighbouring divisions and specialised tactical units.

Ayanlade explained that a joint security team comprising police operatives, personnel of the Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst, and other local security stakeholders conducted intensive combing of the surrounding forests.

The pressure from the coordinated operation forced the suspects to abandon the victims, who were rescued unhurt and reunited with their families.
