Victor Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently from Napoli for €75 million after an impressive loan spell.

The 26-year-old has since attracted attention from Chelsea, PSG, Manchester United, and Barcelona ahead of the January transfer window.

This season, Osimhen has already scored nine goals in 12 appearances across all competitions, including a remarkable hat-trick against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League.

His performances have reinforced his reputation as one of the league’s most lethal forwards.

At a recent awards ceremony in Istanbul, Özbek was asked about reports suggesting that Galatasaray would only entertain offers around €150 million for Osimhen.

“Osimhen is one of the most valuable footballers in Türkiye,” Özbek said, according to Sporx. “I don’t want to comment on his numbers. One thing is certain: all Turkish football fans agree that Osimhen is the league’s most valuable player.”

The striker’s future is already the subject of widespread speculation. Notably, Italian clubs are excluded from consideration until 2027, and Napoli will receive 10% of any future transfer fee.

Debate continues over whether Osimhen should already be at one of Europe’s elite clubs.

Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney expressed his disbelief on CBS Sports Golazo, questioning why a talent of Osimhen’s calibre is playing in Turkey rather than leading the line for a European powerhouse.

“Victor Osimhen is one guy we can never really understand. Why is he in Turkey? Why is he not at these big clubs?” Deeney said.

“There’s something about him that says he’s a goalscorer, but clearly some other people don’t fancy him. For me, you need a goalscorer in your team.”
