Okpebholo urges Muslim support for Tinubu, pledging 2.5 million votes in 2027 during Edo first-year anniversary Walimah celebration


Okpebholo urges Muslim support for President Bola Tinubu’s reform-driven leadership as Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo marked his first year in office.

Speaking at a special Walimah celebration in Benin on Thursday, the governor called on the Muslim community to continue their prayers and back Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing a large gathering during the “365 Days in Office Celebration Walimah,” Okpebholo emphasised the President’s courage, character, and commitment to national reforms.

“President Tinubu is a man of courage, character, and truth, committed to repositioning our nation through bold reforms. He deserves our collective prayers and support,” he said.

The governor pledged to secure a strong mandate for the President, promising, “I have promised the President that we will deliver 2.5 million votes to him in 2027.”

He thanked the Muslim community for their prayers, loyalty, and continued partnership with his administration, describing their support as a vital pillar of his success in office.

Okpebholo also reiterated his administration’s inclusive approach, stressing that appointments and decisions in Edo State are guided strictly by competence and capacity.

“From the beginning, we made it clear that Edo belongs to all of us, irrespective of religion or background,” he said.

Highlighting his focus on unity and prosperity, the governor thanked Allah for guiding the state through a challenging first year.

He reaffirmed that the welfare and cohesion of Edo remains his topmost priority as he continues to implement policies aimed at the state’s progress and development.
