The NPFL suspends fan Jamilu Murtala over alleged threats to match officials and away teams following complaints from Ranchers Bees

The decision followed complaints from Ranchers Bees, who currently use the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano as their temporary home ground.

The Kaduna-based club reportedly raised concerns about the access granted to Murtala by the host state’s football association, particularly his presence in restricted areas around the pitch during home matches.

In its complaint to the NPFL, Ranchers Bees distanced itself from the fan, alleging that his conduct had repeatedly caused disturbances during its home fixtures.

The league subsequently barred Murtala from the ground, saying the measure was intended to maintain order and protect those involved in its matches.

The suspension comes as the NPFL continues to address concerns about matchday security and the conduct of individuals around league venues.

Ranchers Bees are scheduled to travel to Ibadan for their next league fixture against Shooting Stars on Sunday.
