Nigeria’s Oghogho wins bronze in the 63kg judo category at the 4th African Youth Games, boosting the nation’s medal tally and rising judo profile

Nigeria has clinched a bronze medal in the 63 kg judo category at the ongoing 4th African Youth Games in Angola.

The achievement came after a fiercely contested bout against Zimbabwe, with Nigerian judoka Oghogho demonstrating exceptional skill, strength, and determination to secure a podium finish.

A statement by Kola Daniel, Special Assistant on Media to the Office of the NSC Director General, praised Oghogho’s performance, noting that it added to Team Nigeria’s growing medal tally at the Games and reinforced the country’s rising reputation in judo.

“The victory adds to Team Nigeria’s growing medal tally at the Games and highlights the country’s rising profile in judo,” the statement read.

The African Youth Games continue to provide a strong platform for young Nigerian athletes to showcase their abilities, gain international exposure, and compete against the continent’s best.
