Ngaski murder suspect arrested in Kebbi State after body of Ibrahim Yahaya found in forest; police recover stolen motorcycle and launch investigation

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the robbery and killing of 25-year-old Ibrahim Yahaya, whose body was discovered in Bakin Dutsi Forest, Ngaski Local Government Area, on Tuesday morning.

The victim’s body was found around 8:30 a.m., sparking concern among residents and calls for improved security along forest routes frequently used by commuters and farmers.

Police operatives, acting on “credible intelligence,” apprehended the suspect, identified as Aminu Adamu of Yauri Local Government Area, at approximately 2:20 p.m. the same day.

Officers reportedly recovered a Haojue motorcycle believed to have been stolen from the deceased.

SP Bashir Usman, the command’s spokesperson, said the arrest followed intensive investigations initiated immediately after the discovery of the body.

“In line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation,” he said.

The spokesperson added that the police remain committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and are intensifying efforts to prevent similar crimes in the state.

Residents were urged not to panic and to continue supporting law enforcement with timely information.
