NFF plans to honour Moses Simon if the winger makes his 100th Super Eagles appearance against Madagascar in the 2027 AFCON qualifier

Nantes winger Moses Simon is set to receive recognition from the Nigeria Football Federation if he makes his 100th appearance for the Super Eagles against Madagascar in Friday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.

Simon, 31, is expected to reach the milestone after nearly 12 years with the senior national team, having made his international debut against Uganda in a friendly in March 2015.

The winger came on as a 59th-minute substitute for Anthony Ujah during the encounter with the Cranes.

Since then, Simon has established himself as a regular member of the Super Eagles, featuring in major international competitions and qualifying campaigns.

He has made 99 appearances for Nigeria, comprising 64 competitive matches and 35 friendlies.

Simon has also featured 23 times for the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations finals and has played in 22 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The Paris FC winger has scored 11 goals for the three-time African champions.

A 100th appearance against Madagascar would mark a significant milestone in Simon’s international career and place him among the small group of Nigerian players to have reached the landmark.

The NFF is expected to celebrate the achievement if Simon features in the AFCON qualifier on Friday.

Simon’s international journey began in 2015, and his continued involvement with the national team has seen him represent Nigeria across several generations of players.
