Newcastle Agree Deal for Seun Steur after reaching a verbal agreement with Ajax for the 18-year-old midfielder

Newcastle United have reached a verbal agreement with Ajax to sign highly rated midfielder Seun Steur in a deal worth more than €27 million, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reported that the agreement was finalised overnight, with Newcastle now preparing for the 18-year-old’s medical before completing the transfer.

The deal is understood to include a fixed fee of €24 million, with a further €3 million in performance-related add-ons, in line with earlier reports from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

Steur, regarded as one of Ajax’s brightest young midfield prospects, is expected to bolster Newcastle’s long-term midfield options as the club continues to invest in emerging talent.

Once the medical is completed and contracts are signed, the Netherlands youth international will become Newcastle’s latest addition ahead of the new season.
