NAFDAC recruitment notice circulating online is fake, the agency warns, urging Nigerians to rely only on official channels to avoid fraud

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has disowned a recruitment notice circulating on social media, warning Nigerians that the purported announcement did not originate from the agency.

In a disclaimer issued on Wednesday, the Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, described the press release as fake and urged members of the public to disregard the information.

“Our attention has been drawn to a fake press release on the planned NAFDAC recruitment exercise circulating on social media,” the statement read.

“While NAFDAC from time to time carries out recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, the press release in circulation and its content are fake.”

The agency stressed that no recruitment exercise has been announced and cautioned job seekers against falling victim to fraudsters who often exploit such misinformation to extort money through false application or processing fees.

NAFDAC stated that all official information, including recruitment announcements, is communicated only through its verified platforms.

“Authentic information from NAFDAC is published exclusively on the official NAFDAC website and recognised media platforms,” the agency said.

The regulatory body advised Nigerians, particularly unemployed youths, to remain vigilant and verify recruitment-related claims before taking any action, emphasising that NAFDAC does not charge fees for employment opportunities.

The warning comes amid a rise in online scams targeting job seekers, with government agencies increasingly issuing disclaimers to counter false recruitment notices.
