Lionel Messi produced a dazzling performance as Inter Miami CF secured a 5-3 comeback victory over FC Cincinnati in a pulsating Major League Soccer clash.

The Argentine captain scored twice and provided two assists in a match filled with momentum swings and attacking brilliance from both sides.

Messi opened the scoring in the 24th minute after reacting quickest to a loose clearance, converting a rebound to give Inter Miami an early lead.

FC Cincinnati responded strongly, with Kevin Denkey converting a penalty in the 41st minute to level the match at half time.

The hosts then took control early in the second half when Pavel Bucha scored from close range to make it 2-1.

Messi restored parity in the 55th minute with a composed left-footed finish after a flowing team move involving Rodrigo De Paul.

Cincinnati regained the lead again through Evander, who struck a powerful effort from distance in the 64th minute.

Inter Miami refused to relent, and Messi delivered a key assist in the 79th minute for Mateo Silvetti, helping shift momentum back to the visitors.

A defensive error soon after allowed another Miami goal, turning the contest further in their favour before Messi sealed the result in the 89th minute.

The 38-year-old met a cross and struck the post, with the ball deflecting in off goalkeeper Roman Celentano for an own goal.

Inter Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos praised his side’s intensity and quality in a demanding away fixture.

He described the performance as “brilliant” and highlighted the team’s determination in a difficult environment.

The result strengthens Inter Miami’s position in the Eastern Conference, where they now sit second with 25 points.
