Mbappe Champions League top scorer update shows Real Madrid star leading Harry Kane and others after the latest semi-final first leg results

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has maintained his position at the top of the UEFA Champions League scoring chart following the conclusion of the semi-final first leg fixtures this week.

The French international remains two goals clear of Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, who continues to push for a late surge in the competition’s scoring race.

Kane strengthened his tally after finding the net in Bayern Munich’s narrow 5-4 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, a result that kept his side’s hopes alive heading into the return leg.

The England captain is closely followed by Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez and Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, both of whom remain in contention for the Golden Boot.

With a decisive second leg against PSG looming next week, Kane still has a chance to reduce the gap, adding further intensity to an already fierce individual battle at the top end of the tournament.
