Manchester United Amorim compensation could reach £15.9m after his dismissal, with total hiring and firing costs rising to £27m

Manchester United will pay former manager Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff up to £15.9 million in compensation following his dismissal, according to a recent regulatory filing.

Ruben Amorim and five members of his backroom team were sacked on January 5 after 14 months in charge at the Premier League club.

Following his dismissal, Ruben Amorim received a £10 million payment after meetings with director of football Jason Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada.

However, documents submitted to the New York Stock Exchange revealed that the total cost of terminating Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff could rise to £15.9 million.

The final figure will depend on whether the 41 year old secures another managerial role within a specified period.

The disclosure means the overall financial impact of hiring and subsequently dismissing Ruben Amorim could reach £27 million.
