Haaland completed the first-half surge in the 39th minute, drilling into the bottom corner from outside the penalty area for his first non-penalty Premier League goal since December 20.

The strike offered a timely response to recent scrutiny over his open-play drought.

Guardiola later withdrew Haaland at the break, handing Omar Marmoush a rare opportunity as City managed the game with measured control.

The result marked Manchester City’s 20th consecutive victory over Fulham in all competitions and reinforced the champions’ formidable momentum following Sunday’s dramatic 2-1 triumph over Liverpool at Anfield.

Although City’s intensity dipped after the restart, Fulham were unable to mount a meaningful response.

The hosts maintained their defensive discipline, aided by the growing influence of January arrival Marc Guehi at the back.

The victory has tightened the title race dramatically. Arsenal can restore a six-point cushion with a win away to Brentford on Thursday, but the north London side have already seen a nine-point lead trimmed to three within four days.
