At least four members of a family were abducted by armed men in Danhono 2, Millennium City, Kaduna State. Security forces, including army and police, have been sent to rescue the victims

Armed bandits have abducted four members of a family in Danhono 2 village, Millennium City, Kaduna State.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, the incident occurred around 12:05 a.m. on February 9, when unidentified gunmen reportedly invaded the residence of Abdulgafar Abdulrazak.

The abducted include:

Abdulgafar Abdulrazak, the head of the household
His wife, Nafisa Abdulrazak, 41
Their daughter, Ummu Salma Abdulgafar, 13
Abdulgafar’s sister, Maryam Abdulrazak, 10

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) mobilized patrol teams, while the Nigerian Army Strike Force, Special Police Unit (SPU), APV team, and local vigilante groups were swiftly deployed to the scene.

Security forces cordoned off nearby bushes and alerted neighboring divisions and communities to aid the rescue effort.

At the time of filing this report, attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful.

The incident adds to rising security concerns in Kaduna, following recent kidnappings and attacks across the state.
