According to reports by Marca, an earlier attempt to finalise the move in March was rejected before both parties agreed on a summer transfer timeline.

Romano noted that Griezmann is expected to travel to the United States this week as part of arrangements ahead of the switch.

The move signals a new chapter for the French international, who has been a key figure under manager Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann recently featured in Atletico’s 3-2 defeat to city rivals Real Madrid in a La Liga encounter, as he continues to contribute to the team ahead of his departure.
