The 24-year-old Brugge midfielder has been discussed as part of Galatasaray’s broader midfield strategy rather than as a standalone target.

Galatasaray insider Uğur Karakullukçu criticised the club’s transfer approach, citing Onyedika’s situation.

“We’re keeping Onyedika waiting, we’re going to get the star of the Africa Cup, we’ll pay 40, Oulai 35, and then sign an 18-year-old in February. It’s unfair to the 18-year-old, it’s unfair to the fans,” he said, according to Habersarikirmizi.

Onyedika has played 15 Jupiler Pro League matches this season, scoring once, and remains key to Brugge’s midfield.

His contract runs until June 2027, giving the Belgian club strong negotiating leverage even as the player expresses interest in a new challenge.
