The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended his commendation to the workers of the state for their unwavering resilience, dedication, and professionalism, particularly in light of the recent democratic challenges experienced in Rivers State.

In a statement issued on Thursday to commemorate the 2025 Workers’ Day, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing occupational safety and well-being as fundamental elements for achieving sustainable growth.

He highlighted this year’s theme, “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” as particularly relevant in the current global context.

Fubara stressed the pressing need to safeguard workers against increasing environmental threats and socio-political uncertainties.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, in promoting labour reforms and climate-conscious policies aimed at fostering a healthier and safer working environment across the nation.

The suspended Governor urged employers to adhere strictly to labour laws and to consistently uphold the rights and dignity of all workers.

Reflecting on his administration’s commitment, Fubara recalled their dedication to enhancing workers’ welfare and creating a work environment that fosters dignity, opportunity, and prosperity for all.
