Coventry City confirm Frank Onyeka’s permanent transfer from Brentford after loan spell, following promotion-related agreement

Coventry City have confirmed the permanent signing of Nigeria international Frank Onyeka from Brentford FC, following his successful loan spell at the CBS Arena.

Onyeka initially joined Coventry City in January on loan, with a clause in the agreement making the move permanent upon the club’s qualification-related conditions.

The Championship side will now pay a reported €9 million to complete the transfer of the midfielder, who has impressed since his arrival.

Since joining, Onyeka has recorded one goal and one assist in 14 appearances, becoming an important part of the squad under manager Frank Lampard.

His performances have also earned him a nomination for Coventry City’s Goal of the Season award, highlighting his impact in a short period.

Coventry City are set to conclude their season against Watford in their final Championship fixture, as attention now turns to squad planning ahead of the new campaign.
