FCT Minister Nyesom Wike pledges swift justice and police investigation following the tragic death of Arise News journalist Somtochukwu Maduagwu

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has vowed to bring the killers of Arise News journalist Somtochukwu Maduagwu to justice following her tragic death.

Wike expressed his deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a painful blow not only to the Arise News family but to the Nigerian media and the entire nation.

He assured the public that the police will work diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the journalist’s death and hold those responsible accountable.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the FCT Minister offered prayers for the repose of Somtochukwu’s soul and comfort for her family, friends, and colleagues.

The journalist was reported to have been brought to Maitama General Hospital dead at approximately 4:30am on Monday.

Preliminary medical reports are set to assist the police in their ongoing investigation.

Wike’s statement reflected a heartfelt commitment to justice and underscored the importance of protecting media personnel in Nigeria.
