The Falconets thrash New Caledonia 10-1 in Poland to reach the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup knockouts, finishing second in Group F behind Spain

Nigeria’s Falconets, coached by Moses Aduku, thrashed New Caledonia 10-1 in their final Group F match at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland on Sunday 13 September 2026 and booked a place in the Round of 16.

The win lifted Nigeria to four points from three games, second behind Spain on nine. China also finished on four after a 3-1 loss to Spain.

Nigeria went through on goal difference after opening with a 2-0 defeat by Spain and a 0-0 draw with China.

Ramotalahi Kareem and substitute Winner David each scored a hat-trick. Rebecca Adegbemile scored twice. Seimeyeha Akekoromowei and Tosin Rafiu also scored.

Kareem converted a 17th-minute penalty. Adegbemile made it 2-0 two minutes later. Akekoromowei struck in the 23rd minute and Kareem added a second in the 27th for a 4-0 half-time lead.

David, on at the break, scored in the 60th minute. Kareem completed her hat-trick four minutes later. Rafiu made it 7-0 in the 70th. Adegbemile’s second arrived in the 77th.

David scored twice more in the last quarter of an hour to make it 10-0. Joceline Kourevi pulled one back for New Caledonia in the 89th minute.

FIFA sends the top two in each group and the four best third-placed sides into the knockouts. The Falconets have reached this World Cup final twice before. Moses Aduku’s side now wait on a Round of 16 tie after a result that turned a tight group into a rout.
