Falconets beat Poland 1-0 in Brzeg as Mary Mamud scored in first-half stoppage time ahead of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s Falconets beat Poland 1-0 in a pre-tournament friendly at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg on Friday 28 August 2026.

Mary Mamud scored the only goal in first-half stoppage time. The second half stayed goalless, though both sides missed clear chances.

Coach Moses Aduku’s team next play the Korea Republic on Tuesday 1 September at the Remes Resort and Spa Football Stadium, kick-off 4pm local time.

The friendlies are preparation for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Nigeria are in Group F with Spain, China and debutants New Caledonia. Their campaign opens against Spain on Monday 7 September.

A slender win over Poland will not settle those questions. It does give the Falconets a result, a scorer and a few days to tighten their finishing before South Korea and then the World Cup.
