PSG coach Luis Enrique reconsiders Victor Osimhen transfer after attacking struggles, opening the door for a potential 2026 move

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has reversed his previous stance on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, signalling the possibility of a transfer for the forward ahead of the 2026 summer window.

Enrique had earlier resisted signing Osimhen, citing concerns over his temperament and how he would integrate into the PSG dressing room.

However, a dip in form from Gonçalo Ramos and internal reviews of the team’s attacking options have prompted a rethink, according to transfer expert Ekrem Konour.

“PSG is now seriously considering the idea of a recruitment as early as next summer, proof that Luis Enrique no longer rules out such a profile,” Konour reported.

The change marks a notable shift in PSG’s sporting strategy and has reignited internal discussions about the composition of the club’s frontline.

Konour added that Osimhen has become a credible option, particularly if PSG’s current number nine departs.

Galatasaray, Osimhen’s current club, have stated they will not entertain offers during the winter window and intend to retain the striker until the season’s end.

Reports suggest, however, that a substantial bid or player request could prompt reconsideration.

Interest from other European giants—including Barcelona, seeking a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, and Real Madrid, contemplating a Vinicius Junior exit—adds complexity to the potential deal.

Real Madrid reportedly view Osimhen as a strategic signing to bolster their attack and facilitate tactical adjustments, while PSG maintain a financial edge over their Spanish rivals.

“The clubs involved do not operate with the same financial power. PSG have far greater resources than Barcelona and are capable of submitting an offer that Galatasaray would struggle to refuse,” Konour said.

If a move to PSG or Madrid materialises, Osimhen’s arrival would have immediate consequences for squad dynamics, potentially reshaping the team’s attacking structure and influencing the roles of existing players.
