EFCC arrests internet fraud suspects in a sweeping operation that rocked Bauchi State over the weekend.

No fewer than 32 individuals were apprehended by operatives of the Gombe Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday, July 25, 2025.

The coordinated raid took place in the Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji neighborhoods of Bauchi metropolis two areas flagged by credible intelligence for harboring cybercrime rings. The EFCC revealed that the suspects were linked to ongoing internet fraud operations.

The high-impact operation led to the seizure of several electronic items believed to be tools of the illegal trade. These include 15 iPhones, 9 Samsung phones, 3 Redmi devices, 1 Infinix, 2 iPads, and 8 laptops.

Also recovered were 4 Neonx Auto motorbikes, a Peugeot 406 car, gaming consoles including PlayStation 4 and 5, a Maxi E50KWH generator, and even a pistol.

Authorities have confirmed that all suspects will be arraigned in court after investigations conclude.
