Governor Monday Okpebholo nominates former Edo Assembly lawmakers Christopher Okaeben and Festus Odianosen Ebea, alongside Dr Elizabeth Ebosele, as commissioners-designate

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has nominated two former lawmakers of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Christopher Okaeben and Hon Festus Odianosen Ebea, as commissioners-designate.

The two former legislators are among three persons put forward for commissioner positions, with the third nominee named as Dr Elizabeth Ebosele, according to a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor.

The Edo State House of Assembly has cleared 17 commissioners-designate so far, with the swearing-in yet to take place.

If all current nominees are confirmed and sworn in, Governor Okpebholo’s cabinet will total 29 commissioners.

Government sources revealed that some current commissioners may be redeployed, while others could face dismissal as part of the reorganisation.

Dr Ebosele is recognised for her expertise in project planning, financing, renewable energy transitions, ICT, and grassroots development.

The statement highlighted her reputation for dedication to evidence-based policymaking and inclusive governance.

Musa Ikhilor stated that the names of the three nominees would be formally submitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
