Coronation Registrars dominates Nigerian Exchange with 34.8% market share, processing ₦1.28 trillion in dividends and improving shareholder data in 2025

Coronation Registrars Limited has reported robust operational performance for 2025, solidifying its position as a key player in Nigeria’s capital market.

The registrar processed ₦1.28 trillion in dividends last year, representing over 40 per cent of the total distributed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

The figures highlight the scale of the company’s operations and the level of trust placed in it by some of Nigeria’s leading publicly listed firms.

According to the report, Coronation Registrars maintained a 34.8 per cent market share of the NGX by market capitalisation and provided registrar services to roughly 64 per cent of companies listed on the NGX Premium Board.

These metrics underscore its pivotal role in supporting transparency and investor confidence.

Operational activities remained strong, with approximately 1.99 million buy and sell transactions processed across its portfolio.

The company also managed about 2.91 million shareholder accounts, reflecting the breadth of its investor base.

Coronation Registrars further addressed the longstanding challenge of unclaimed dividends, successfully returning ₦3.67 billion in legacy funds to investors in 2025, reconnecting thousands of shareholders with previously dormant assets.

The registrar also processed over 513,000 Know Your Customer (KYC) and shareholder account updates during the year.

These included Clearing House Number updates and other record modifications designed to improve data accuracy and service efficiency.

Commenting on the results, the Managing Director of Coronation Registrars Limited said, “Our 2025 scorecard reflects the responsibility we carry as custodians of shareholder records and facilitators of dividend distribution for many of Nigeria’s leading companies. We remain committed to improving investor access, strengthening operational efficiency, and supporting the continued development of Nigeria’s capital market.”
