The 25-year-old forward’s representatives are expected to travel to Manchester this week to finalise personal terms and agree on a long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium.

City are reportedly the only club to have formally contacted Bournemouth regarding the clause, despite prior interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea before Christmas.

Chelsea reportedly decided not to pursue the transfer, while Tottenham have shifted their focus to other targets.

The potential acquisition of Semenyo would bolster City’s attacking options for the second half of the season, giving Pep Guardiola greater flexibility as he looks to maintain the club’s Premier League title challenge and competitiveness in European competition.
