UCL semi-final return leg preview comes ahead of Tuesday’s clash between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium, followed by Wednesday’s high-stakes encounter between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena.

Arsenal host Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid after a tightly contested 1-1 draw in Spain, with Mikel Arteta’s side aiming to capitalise on home advantage following a dominant 3-0 Premier League win over Fulham at the weekend.

Atletico, meanwhile, arrive in London buoyed by a 2-0 league victory over Valencia.

On Wednesday, Bayern Munich will attempt to overturn a narrow deficit against Paris Saint-Germain after a thrilling 5-4 first-leg result in Paris.

The French champions, who currently lead Ligue 1, head into the return fixture after a 2-2 draw with Lorient, while Bayern were held 3-3 at home by Heidenheim in the Bundesliga.

Ahead of the decisive fixtures, Lagos-based football journalist Femi Fabunmi offered his assessment, backing Arsenal and Bayern Munich to progress to the final based on home advantage and overall squad depth.

“The first legs were crackers, especially in Paris, where both PSG and Bayern showed real attacking firepower,” he said.

Fabunmi added that while Bayern are expected to edge their tie at home, Arsenal face a more challenging test but could still progress with strong support from their home crowd.
