Nigerian sprinter Blessing Ogundiran has produced a breathtaking performance at the South Florida Invitational, clocking an astonishing 10.98 seconds in the women’s 100 metres to announce herself as one of the rising stars in global athletics.

Blessing Ogundiran, who represents Warner University, dominated the race from start to finish, leaving her competitors behind in a commanding display of speed and control that immediately drew attention across the athletics community.

Eseroghene Awusa of the University of Central Florida finished second in 11.40 seconds, while Jada Smith of Boston University placed third with a time of 11.57 seconds, as Ogundiran crossed the line well ahead of the field.

The performance marks a significant milestone for Blessing Ogundiran, setting a new school record and rewriting the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics record books, further cementing her rapid rise in the sport.

This latest achievement comes shortly after she broke the NAIA women’s 100m record at the Embry-Riddle Classic, where she ran 11.21 seconds to surpass a long-standing benchmark held since 2014.

If ratified by World Athletics, the 10.98-second sprint could position Blessing Ogundiran among the world’s fastest women this season, signalling a breakthrough moment in her career trajectory.
