Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff said talks with Yves Bissouma had been under way since August. “We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level. He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be available for selection as soon as possible.”

Yves Bissouma moved to Tottenham from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2022 and made 111 appearances for the north London club.

In August 2025, then-manager Thomas Frank left him out of the UEFA Super Cup squad against Paris Saint-Germain over persistent lateness.
